An Electrical Installation Condition Report (formerly a Periodic Inspection and Test
report) takes roughly a day for an average domestic dwelling and costs approximately
£240 - we produce a detailed report (minimum 6 page) on the condition of your electrical
installation.
- We will provide a quotation upon request for other installations.
- All circuits are tested and inspected.
- A minimum of 10% of accessories/ switches/ sockets/ isolators are inspected for each
circuit – all final points tested for earth quality, security of connection and polarity.
The percentage of items inspected is increased if issues arise
- RCD(s) are tested to ensure that they trip within the time required to protect against
electrocution.
- Our testing equipment is regularly calibrated to ensure that accurate measurements
are taken.
Insurance companies usually require a Periodic Inspection and Test to be carried
out at a maximum 10 year intervals for domestic installations, 5 years for commercial
educational, industrial, and residential installations, offices, shops and laboratories.
Installations require testing and inspecting at the following maximum intervals:
- Buildings open to the public 3 to 5 years (except cinemas which are 1 to 3 years)
- Agricultural and horticultural installations require testing and inspecting at an
interval of 3 years maximum.
- Caravan Parks require testing and inspecting at an interval of 1 year maximum.
